As the Cosmos ecosystem grows, there is a pressing need for innovative funding mechanisms to support the development of public goods and appchains within the Atom Economic Zone (AEZ). To address this, AADAO is pleased to award a $200,000 grant to the Quadratic Funding Program for the AEZ, managed by DoraHacks and Dora Factory. This program is set to run over 24 months and aims to revolutionize funding distribution through a quadratic voting algorithm.
The quadratic funding model improves upon traditional funding approaches by reducing the influence of large contributors and preventing extreme preferences from skewing funding outcomes. This innovative scheme ensures that support is more evenly distributed among projects, promoting fairness and inclusivity. With the Cosmos Hub governance’s approval, the Atom Accelerator DAO is contributing additional funds to the match funding pool and aligning the program with the AEZ’s needs.
DoraHacks, a leading multi-chain Web3 developer platform with over 120,000 monthly active users, recently conducted the first native Cosmos Hub quadratic funding round. This effort garnered nearly 400 unique contributions, highlighting the community’s engagement and the model’s potential. The AEZ Quadratic Funding Program will distribute funds across 10 rounds, supporting essential public goods like IBC Relayers and Cosmos SDK modules.
This grant will play a crucial role in fostering sustainable development within the AEZ, shaping the future of the Cosmos ecosystem, and enabling the creation of new cornerstone applications. For more details on how AADAO supports this program, visit our information page.
