To address the challenge of limited wallet integration and enhance dApp exposure, AADAO has awarded Mystic Labs with a $50,000 grant to integrate MetaMask support for the Cosmos Hub ecosystem using MetaMask’s “snap” architecture.
This project aims to provide 20 million active monthly MetaMask users access to Cosmos Hub, creating a modular solution that opens new growth opportunities for the ecosystem. By bridging this gap, the initiative seeks to position Cosmos Hub within the largest user base in crypto, significantly expanding its reach and user engagement.
The grant is awarded due to the team’s extensive experience with SES, the foundation of MetaMask Snaps, gained from their contributions to Agoric. Additionally, the Osmosis Grants program has approved this grant in a collaborative effort, recognizing its potential to enhance dApp exposure and provide seamless integration with the most widely used non-custodial wallet in the crypto space.
The project has received positive feedback from the community, and Mystic Labs, the team behind the integration, is optimistic about its potential. MetaMask Snaps aims to support other chains as well such as dYdX, and scope out a gas flexibility module for a contingent grant with AADAO, which would allow users to pay gas fees with ATOM, OSMO, or USDC.
By supporting the MetaMask Snaps integration, AADAO is enabling Cosmos to tap into a vast user base, fostering greater adoption and interaction within the ecosystem. This grant underscores the importance of wallet compatibility in driving growth and innovation within the Atom Economic Zone (AEZ).
