Gyan is a decentralised, learn-to-earn platform that harnesses the power of blockchain technology to reshape the world of online education and build an on-chain network of professionals to rival its centralized counterparts like LinkedIn. The Gyan platform creates an incentive aligned ecosystem for educators, learners and sponsors to interact to increase the efficacy of online education while creating an on-chain, transparent proof-of-learning through sould-bound certifications. The platform utilises ATOM at its heat in maintaining the incentive of various actors in the following way:
1) Educators: Users who can create and post educational courses on the platform. Educators must purchase and stake a predefined minimum of $ATOM from open markets to enlist their courses on the platform. They may also purchase $ATOM tokens to seed reward pools for learners to earn from completing the courses. Educators can also earn $ATOM rewards on every successful issuance of certificates. Additionally, educators may access a list of sponsored reward pools for specific courses. They may compete with other educators offering the same course to have their courses enlisted under that reward pool.
2) Learners: Users who seek to learn and earn $ATOM from the platform. Learners must purchase and stake a predefined minimum amount of $ATOM from open markets to access courses for learning and earning corresponding Soul-bound certificates. Additionally, successful completion of courses makes learners eligible for $ATOM rewards.
3) Sponsors: Users/entities who seek to promote the education of particular course(s) on the platform by donating $ATOM to the corresponding reward pools of courses. These sponsors can typically be recruiters and foundations looking to access a pool of candidates with specific skill sets and an on-chain “proof-of-learning.” Sponsors may purchase $ATOM from open markets to sponsor reward pools of existing courses or create reward pools for new courses to be listed on the platform where educators can submit their courses for the sponsors to pick the best-suited one to be listed to their reward pool.
