This grant is to run a three-month-long, top-of-funnel engagement growth campaign with Drops. The aim is to leverage their bounties platform to generate user-generated content (UGC) for the Hub and AEZ, as well as experiment with campaigns to encourage users to increase their ATOM staking balances.
Drops is an ideal partner in this campaign, being able to lean on their significant current user base, with whom we can bootstrap our campaigns. Users on the platform can perform tasks to gain points, with the top-scoring users nabbing leaderboard prizes worth $5k.
Drops utilizes a novel ‘multiplier’ mechanics that lets users multiply the points they receive by referring other users, with a multiplier on influencers invited. They also utilize a weighted-points mechanic for their leaderboard – where the platform that the points were earned is accounted for, as well as how many points were earned – to determine that user’s share of the leaderboard prizes.
Since our focus will be on long-form UGC with engagement targets, and given Drops utilizes Twitter API to correctly track engagement data, it should reduce low-effort content from “point farmers”. With Drops’ familiarity with Cosmos SDK transactions – through their work with Injective – we also believe they can quite easily update their platform to read wallet and staking info on the Cosmos Hub, allowing us to run campaigns that are related to onchain balances.
The campaign will run between September – November 2024.
