To address the need for developer training and community expansion in Brazil, AADAO has granted $45,000 to fund a six-month developer training program focusing on smart contract programming in CosmWasm and Cosmos SDK basics. This program will include comprehensive student support, monthly workshops, small scholarships, monthly student incentives, hackathon participation, sponsorship at Blockchain Rio, and monthly media outreach through a popular Brazilian influencer on Twitter and YouTube.
Brazil has a rapidly growing developer interest, which has led major ecosystems like Ethereum, Polkadot, and Cardano to expand their communities through education and development training. The grant was awarded because the team behind it had already been building the ‘Cosmos Brasil’ community for two years, establishing active connections with local influencers and universities. Their aim is not only to onboard developers through the course but also to present Cosmos at major blockchain events in Brazil and raise awareness about the ecosystem.
The expected impact on the Cosmos Hub/AEZ includes a significant increase in trained developers proficient in CosmWasm and Cosmos SDK, leading to more innovative projects and contributions to the ecosystem. By fostering a strong local community and presenting Cosmos at major events, this grant will enhance the visibility and adoption of Cosmos in Brazil. The structured approach to community building and education demonstrated in this project serves as a model that can be replicated in other regions, further accelerating the global growth of the Cosmos ecosystem.
