To address the need for improved governance mechanisms in the Cosmos ecosystem, AADAO has granted $65,481 to RMIT for research on the governance of Interchain Security and the ATOM Community Pool. This was the third grant issued as part of our ATOM Tokenomics RFP, focusing on the governance aspects complementary to the tokenomics research conducted by Binary and Blockworks.
The end goal of the three grants composing the ATOM Tokenomics RFP was to fix some of the current issues with ATOM tokenomics and suggest new governance mechanisms as appropriate. We awarded these grants to teams we believed were best placed to both conduct research, suggest new mechanisms, and help the community understand their findings. RMIT’s research will delve into the governance structures necessary for Interchain Security and provide insights into optimizing the governance of the ATOM Community Pool.
The expected impact on the Cosmos Hub/AEZ includes the establishment of more robust governance frameworks that enhance the security and functionality of the ecosystem. RMIT’s comprehensive research aims to foster better decision-making processes and community engagement, ultimately leading to a more decentralized and efficient governance model.
By addressing these governance challenges, this grant will contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of the Cosmos ecosystem, ensuring that it remains a leader in the blockchain space.
