The ATOM Interchain Insights project by Map of Zones aims to create a comprehensive analytics platform that provides unprecedented transparency and understanding of ATOM’s role across IBC-connected ecosystems. This platform will offer two key tools: an ATOM Interchain TVL Dashboard and an ATOM Bridging Flow Visualization and Heatmap. Together, they will track ATOM’s usage across DeFi platforms and visualize its movements between Cosmos chains.
As the Cosmos ecosystem grows, it becomes crucial for stakeholders to have detailed insights into where ATOM is being deployed, how it flows across chains, and its impact within the ecosystem. Currently, Cosmos lacks a cohesive tool that provides this level of granularity, making it difficult for developers, projects, and users to grasp ATOM’s economic and governance influence fully. The ATOM Interchain Insights platform addresses this gap by building transparent, actionable data solutions that empower ecosystem participants and inform governance.
It is important to note that this project will track all ATOM deployed across the ecosystem – not just ATOM from Protocol-owned-liquidity (PoL) from platforms like Hydro or the ATOM Community Pool. This will offer insights into how ATOM is utilized across decentralized exchanges (DEXs), lending/borrowing platforms, and liquid staking providers.
Additionally, users will be able to drill down into data by chain, application, or specific DeFi product, allowing for an in-depth analysis of ATOM’s usage patterns across the interchain. With historical data backfill and robust data pipeline setup, the platform will also enable users to analyze TVL trends over time, providing a clear view of ATOM’s growth, adoption, and impact across the ecosystem.
Also as part of this grant, the Map of Zones’ team will add a badge to ICS chains on its main UI, to signify ATOM’s role in securing key appchains in the ecosystem.
