Around the ever-evolving Cosmos Hub, transparent and standardized reporting is vital for informed decision-making, fostering institutional adoption, and enhancing global understanding. To best meet user’s needs, the Atom Accelerator DAO (AADAO) is dedicated to funding initiatives that drive transparency and foster valuable growth within the Cosmos Hub.
As part of this mission, AADAO has awarded a grant to Messari, a leading research company known for its institutional-grade reports on the cryptoeconomy.
In the blog below, we spotlight this grant, which funds Messari’s five in-depth research reports that provide key insights into the Cosmos Hub and the broader Atom Economic Zone (AEZ).
About Messari & Their Reports
Messari has established itself as a key player in the blockchain research space, recognized for delivering comprehensive reports that track key performance indicators and fundamental metrics across leading blockchains. These reports are instrumental for investors, regulators, and the general public, offering the data necessary to make informed decisions about digital assets.
To bolster the visibility of the Cosmos ecosystem and improve decision-making, AADAO awarded Messari a $100,000 USDC grant. The primary goal of this grant was to fund a series of quarterly reports designed to not only inform the Cosmos community but also to attract potential partnerships with mainstream enterprises, thereby advancing Cosmos’s reputation and adoption.
This grant played a significant role in enhancing transparency and fostering institutional engagement within the Cosmos Hub ecosystem, contributing to its growth and long-term development.
Grant Milestones
The grant was structured in milestones, ensuring thorough and consistent reporting on the Cosmos Hub over time:
Milestone 1 ($60k):
- Initial Genesis Report: “Cosmos Hub: Genesis of the Interchain”
- Quarterly Report: “State of Cosmos Hub Q3 2023”
- Quarterly Report: “State of Cosmos Hub Q4 2023”
Milestone 2 ($20k):
- Quarterly Report: “State of Cosmos Hub Q1 2024”
- Quarterly Report: “State of Cosmos Hub Q2 2024”
All reports have been successfully completed and published on Messari’s official website. They were also distributed to Messari subscribers and shared through major research platforms, including Bloomberg Terminal, S&P Capital IQ, and Refinitiv.
Each report delivered valuable insights, covering key metrics, financial analyses of ATOM, network analysis, governance updates, ecosystem evaluations, and notable events from each reporting period.
For example, delving into the origins of the Hub in the Genesis of the Interchain report. Explaining daily active addresses and daily transactions increasing 56% in the Q4 2023 report. Or the introduction of Partial Set Security (PSS) to further enhance interchain security across the AEZ in the Q1 2024 report.
While these reports were sponsored, the data was meticulously sourced using The Graph’s Subgraph, which fully indexed the Cosmos Hub.
The Power of Insights
In an ecosystem as complex and rapidly evolving as Cosmos, transparency is key to success. Reports like those produced by Messari play a critical role in addressing key issues, identifying successes, and directing the future growth of the Cosmos Hub and the AEZ.
By offering a clear and detailed view of the ecosystem’s status, these reports empowered stakeholders to make informed decisions, align strategic priorities, and allocate resources effectively. They also supported developer adoption by offering crucial insights into network performance, protocol upgrades, and governance changes, enabling developers to build with confidence within the ecosystem.
Furthermore, the transparency these reports provided fostered greater trust within the community and among potential institutional partners, strengthening the Cosmos Hub’s credibility as a leader in the broader blockchain space.
“Cosmos Hub’s commitment to long-term growth was underscored by its strategic advancements in tokenomics, governance, and ecosystem funding. The network’s adaptability was evidenced by the integration of inscriptions, enabling innovative use cases and strengthening its role within the Interchain ecosystem.” – Tehsin Amlani, Messari Research Analyst in the Q2 2024 Report.
Looking Forward
As we reflect on the completed grant, the importance of Messari’s reports in advancing the Cosmos Hub and supporting the expansion of the AEZ is clear. These reports not only provided essential data for decision-making but also laid the groundwork for future success.
By supporting this initiative, AADAO played a critical role in building a more transparent, resilient, and robust Cosmos Hub ecosystem, furthering the growth and influence of the AEZ.
