Effective this week, all Atom Accelerator DAO (AADAO) contributors have unanimously declined their Performance Bonuses for the year.
As a result, we’re pleased to announce that 88,056 ATOM (approx. $406,000 at time of writing) will be returned to the Cosmos Hub Community Pool in the next few days.
Additionally, as of the October payroll, contributors who previously received ATOM tokens as part of their “Retention” compensation are no longer receiving these tokens, a change included in the total amount being returned. This return represents the entire remaining balance from the Performance and Retention Pool, authorized by Cosmos Hub proposal 865 to fund AADAO’s second term.
This adjustment was made alongside a change in contributors’ base pay to address the added responsibilities dispersed among the team after recent departures. For the eight affected contributors, base pay increased by an average of $1.4k, with only one adjustment remaining within the compensation range outlined in Prop 865.
The exception is our Operations Coordinator, whose revised compensation reflects a fairer, market-aligned rate, acknowledging her vital role and skills. This decision was made with the full consensus of the DAO and the Oversight Committee.
Despite this change, with three budgeted positions currently unfilled (General Manager, a Strategy Committee Member, and a Grant Committee Member), we anticipate a budget surplus in payroll for the current term.
